Bait and Switch

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I saw an ad on MAJOR WORLD website for a Nissan Rogue. Price sounded fair.

I called to make sure the car was still available and they assure me that it was. We arrived and sales person took us for a long walk to see the car. Sales person then says "oh this car has a bad title.....but let me show you other cars". Of course all the other cars he had were more expensive than the one I wanted.

I told him I was not interested in financing , I wanted to pay cash for the purchase.

My budget was reasonable (so much so that I was able to buy a similar car at another dealership with no issues the next day).

The sales person then says he will try to get me a deal on those other, more expensive cars he just showed me. Yeah, not really....With all their hidden fees, price comes out to about the same.

I told them I would think about it. I went home and checked the Nissan Rogue's VIN report and come to find out there is nothing wrong with the car title. MAJOR WORLD has some cheaper cars listed which they use to lure customers in and then bait and switch them.

The price difference between the car you originally saw on the website and the cars they show you is not astronomical that is obviously noticeable but if they convince every customer to spend and additional $1000 than what they were originally planning on spending that adds to a lot of money in their pockets. That is their scam.

Buyers be ware!!! I can imagine if you are interested in financing they would try to deceive you even more since the money doesnt come out of your pocket right away but over time those added payments will really add up.

Misleading salesman

So I purchased a 2019 jeep Wrangler JL from jeep Major World around two months ago. The sales person told me that it had a feature called Uconnect that allowed me to view my vehicle from my phone and also start it from my phone or my Apple Watch. It was around 7 PM so it was about time for the place to close. The salesman sat inside of the vehicle with me and gave me a quick rundown on what the vehicle can do. He was trying to start up the Uconnect feature but didn’t know how so he told me to go home and “YouTube“ it. So I went home and did as much research as I could and there was no way that I can start up this feature. So I called my sales person up again and told him that I didn’t know how to start up Uconnect. So he told me to bring it in to the mechanic so he could see what he could do. The next day I drove 10 miles over to the dealership mechanic only to find out that he wasn’t there that day. So I had to drive all the way back home. Then I called the sales person and he told me to come in three days later when the mechanic was there. So when I went to see him, the mechanic told me that you connect wasn’t in my vehicle and that he would compensate me for putting “Viper“ in my vehicle. I told the sales person that I didn’t want viper in my vehicle because I didn’t want to carry around two remotes. It’s bad enough that the wrangler remote is huge as it is. The sales person told me that they were not able to install you connect on the vehicle. Where I believe that it should be installed because this is a premium vehicle and this is what the sales person promised me at the time of the sale. Now they are giving me the runaround telling me that they are going to call me the next day and don’t. They were quick to take my money with my trade-in but now that that’s done, it’s like they don’t want to do anything else for me, meanwhile this was not my fault. I called Jeep customer service and they told me that it is ultimately up to the general manager of jeep Major World. So far nobody has gotten back to me. I am so upset that this is the customer service that I receive for paying $44,000 for a vehicle.

Yeah, after doing research, the install was indeed possible but they didn’t want to dish out $1500 plus labor for the radio they promised me. So they figure they give me a free viper.

Something I definitely didnt want but had no other choice to get because nobody else wanted to do this for me.

I hear and always heard nothing but bad things about major auto world and I will do as much as possible to never have deal with them again whenever it comes to servicing my vehicle. Never in my life have I felt so helpless with a purchase like this.

Second set of keys

I purchased my car in April or May with Omar Morales and was promised the second set of key. I’ve tried to reach him for the past months with no answer. I need the second key I was promised. I purchased a 2019 Jeep Latitude. Need keys ASAP. As promised by this sales person.

Purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruze at the end of 2013/beginning of 2014 at Major World. They showed me that the vehicle never had any problems or bad history. Within the first year, the car started overheating, check engine came on and then started shutting off on stop lights. At first I didn't think it was anything too bad but when it started shutting off I did my own history search of this vehicle. There were more than 20 problems with this vehicle that was not shown to me. Because of this, the vehicle has been sitting for the past 2yrs without being driven. Sucks because I have to pay over $350/mo for a car I'm not even driving. Wish we can do something to get me my money back or swapped for another vehicle, new and in working order.

Bad bad bad

My first five minutes was the most worst experience at any dealership in my entire life and I own seven cars ..first I went in to trade my 2012 Mercedes for a 15 Mercedes that I seen online, the old man who attended me had a heavy Jamaican accent with one blind eye he was the worst salesman I have ever experienced in my entire life.. my wife works at a Ford dealership I know over 20 salesman and never witnessed not one be so disrespectful to a customer ..from the start I walked in he walked me into a trailer and asked me to write down all my information including my social security number I told them I'm here to see a vehicle to see if I like it before I go into anything, he refused to show me the vehicle and yelled at me seriously yelled at me and told me to fill out the form first , I told him I'm not signing anything until I see the vehicle he literally threw the form on the table and said do what you want that's not the worst part the worst part is he told his boss that i dont speak english that i asked for a spanish person to help with is pure b.s ...the place is ghetto and again after I had my girlfriend run a couple VIN numbers for me through Carfax turns out every vehicle they have is lemons been in floods and have structural damage on virtually every car in there do your car facts before you walk in there for a specific car do not go in there anyways I bought a Mercedes right across the street from them thanks for chasing me away I got a better deal and was treated very good

THIS LOCATION OF A CAR DEALERSHIP IS TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE SERVICE ESP THE OLD HAG *** LOCATED IN BILLING AND SALES. I LIKE HOW THEY ACT LIKE THEY HAVE SUCH AN IMPORTANT ROLE AND LIKE TO TALK LIKE A BAD *** WHEN ALL YOU DO IS SIT BEHIND A DESK ON A COMPUTER DEALING WITH BILLING AND WONT EVEN HELP YOUR OWN CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE BOUGHT FROM YOUR DEALERSHIP. I WILL REVERT EVERY PERSON I KNOW LOOKING TO BUY A VEHICLE TO STAY CLEAR OF THIS LOCATION!! THEY HANG UP THE PHONE ON YOU, DONT ANSWER PHONES, AND THINK ITS FUNNY. WELL I WILL THINK IT'S FUNNY WHEN I CAN SPREAD THE WORD ON THIS {{Redacted}} DEALERSHIP.

Poor service even after I ignored the bait and switch the prior day

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I would leave 0 stars. I did get a good deal on a car last year from them.

So I was going to offer repeat business. I sent them a scathing email yesterday after my poor experience on Monday, 7/24. They called and begged me to come in the next day to try to make it right. I figured I would give them a chance.

They failed again. Rather than say what happened, this is what I emailed them today. So this is my second day of sending a complaint. I had a miserable experience on Monday, you can look up the Email I sent yesterday morning.

I received a phone call yesterday that you guys were going to try and treat me right and see if we could work out a deal for a car, so I went back in. I was supposed to meet with a Patricia in new cars. Then I received an Email from a Mustafa after speaking to him that Jed Markson would meet with me at 7. So, here begins the comedy of errors.

I get there at 6:40. I walk in and begin speaking to Ray in new cars who was nice and helpful. He told me Jed just left for the day. Evidently, I was parked right next to his black pickup truck and walked by him, 20 minutes before my so called scheduled meeting.

I then asked for Patricia, who was described to me as a GM in New cars. Nobody knew who I was talking about. Ray brought me to the used car office, or trailer. He asked the young lady to get me a manager to talk to due to my bad experience the day before.

She walks into an office, comes back, and tells me Jed is gone for the day, and sorry. So evidently, nobody could speak to me. I walked back upstairs to go to my car and was approached by Ray. I told him what had happened and he did a good job getting me engaged.

?We discussed a Traverse or Equinox. I appreciated his time, but I just do not like either. He said maybe someone in the used car office could help me, so i was brought back down there, giving Major World a third chance. I spoke to a gentleman for 2 minutes and he said he could not help me at all because of the basic numbers I presented to him.

I do not understand how a 2 minute conversation equals eliminating a potential buyer. A repeat buyer at that. My profession is VP of Purchasing for a multi million dollar online retailer. None of my vendors treat me the way I have been treated by your company.

I did go to the Jeep portion after to see maybe it will be different. I met with a Yonni who was extremely helpful and hones with me. The numbers did not work out, but he was a breath of fresh air for your company. I see that you are being investigated by the DCA - http://sunnysidepost.com/department-of-consumer-affairs-charges-major-world-alleges-auto-dealer-uses-deceptive-sales-tactics-resulting-in-predatory-loans I will be reporting my experiences too them.

I will also be contacting the BBB. Perhaps I am a minority and nobody wanted to deal with me because I am not Latin. Perhaps it is that I have tattoos. Who knows, but this will be reported.

Do not bother responding to me unless you plan to pay off my car and put me in something I want. This is not a threat, it is more of a "Let's not waste any more of each other's time" statement.

Best of luck to your organization. You have now lost a potential repeat customer.

This business is filled with thieves and Liars! They had me drive 3 hours to look at a vehicle that they claim to have been accident-free with a clean Carfax and the whole rear end was caved in. They then called me cheap laughed and walked away from me. If you want to know the truth about this business just go on Yelp and read those reviews because the Google reviews are paid for by their advertising company that posts them. Avoid this business at all costs!!!

Major World - Deal Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Major world had a promotion offering a flat screen tv when you purchase a car. Cool right?

What they DONT tell you is before you get the free tv they ask you to sit in this little office with this fat geeky woman with glasses claiming to be in their "marketing dept." She asks you to turn off location services on your phone and type postive reviews. I wanted a FREE tv so I went along.

I'm not really here to complain just thought it was kind of weird. If they're as great as they claim to be, why do they need customers typing up fake reviews?
